The Table Collection
As they say, if you are ever in doubt go for black. Black is arguably the most versatile color ever. Whether it is furniture, shoes or clothing, black is always the safest color to choose when you can’t make a decision. Interior design for the kitchen can be very tricky business. The shape, colors and design of everything in the kitchen should compliment each other. If you are shopping around for a kitchen table but just can’t seem to make up your mind on which color to choose, go for a black kitchen table. More likely that not it will blend into the design of your kitchen. If it doesn’t you can always throw a tablecloth over it. Black furniture is not only a great color in terms of aesthetics where it is also extremely practical. They require less maintenance than lighter colors. They also look more contemporary and modern (especially when compared to brown). I have a black kitchen table in my kitchen that has survived many remodeling processes. As versatile as it may be, getting a black kitchen table is not the holy grail of versatile interior design. It is very important that you select a table that is made of the right materials, right size and right design. Wood is usually the best material for kitchen furniture. Metal furniture feels cold and is best suited for outdoor use while plastic furniture just doesn’t look as good.
If you plan to place the kitchen table against a wall, it is best to get one that is rectangular in shape. Rectangle kitchen tables are space saving and have the effect of making the room look longer. If you plan to place it in the middle of the room, you should choose the shape based on the shape of your kitchen. If you kitchen is rectangle in shape, you should get a rectangle table. Another advantage of getting a black kitchen table is that is has the effect of making the room look larger. At the very least, it will not make the space look cluttered like how some light colored furniture would. If you are just don’t like furniture, you can get a table with a color that matches the rest of the furniture in your kitchen. If you are still not quite sure on which table to buy after reading this, you can consult an interior designer. |
